What I Learned

That weekend changed how I buy coatings. Here’s the honest truth, and it might surprise you: I don’t recommend PPG for every single job. If you’re doing a small, one-time residential project on a tight budget, there are cheaper options that will work fine. But if you need reliability—especially under a deadline—the difference is night and day.

Most buyers focus on the price per gallon and completely miss the cost of failure. A delay or a product that doesn't perform can cost 10x more than the premiums you pay for a trusted brand.

So here’s my tip: find a supplier who stocks local inventory. Brands like PPG have regional hubs that can save your bacon. And always, always test the concrete’s moisture and pH before you start. That’s a mistake you don’t want to make twice.
